Established in 2007, IVS stands as one of Japan’s largest startup conferences, commemorating its 15th anniversary this year.
This year’s conference centered around Web 3.0, representing the progressive advancement of the blockchain-based decentralized Internet.
The goal of the IVS Crypto 2023 event was to facilitate meaningful connections among Web 3.0 innovators, investors, developers, and startup supporters. Held from June 28th to the 30th, the event featured an impressive lineup of over 700 speakers, and 250 panelists, and attracted an attendance exceeding 10,000 individuals. It encompassed engaging panel discussions, exhilarating hackathons, captivating contests, thought-provoking quizzes, and a diverse range of enriching sub-events.
Event Highlights:
- Japan has released a 5-year plan to increase startup funding tenfold to 10 trillion yen by 2027. Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has mentioned that the country will improve its progressive approach, launch its own stablecoin, and provide tax breaks to Web3 founders.
- Major companies such as Ripple, Tencent Cloud, EY, Google Cloud, Stripe, AWS, SoftBank, and Polkadot participated and presented their companies.
- Sony Network Communications, a business unit of one of Japan’s largest conglomerates, Sony Group, announced at the event that it will invest $3.5 million in Singapore’s Startale Labs.
- Oasys, a well-known blockchain platform for the video game industry, announced a number of highlights at the event, including collaborations with Ubisoft and Com2uS.
